God is abolishing everything that produces sorrow, death, decay, alienation, and ruin. He is making all things new. Not all new things. All things new.
That means your tears matter. Your body matters. Your story matters. Justice matters. Beauty matters. Work matters. Community matters. None of it is disposable to God.
So the Christian hope is that pain is temporary. That Sunday was stronger than Friday. That the resurrection is God's pledge that everything destroying life will itself be destroyed.
