Does God actually change His mind? N.T. Wright was asked exactly that and his answer is not the one most Christians were taught.
The question was how to reconcile the verses where God relents with the one that says God never relents. Instead of explaining it away, Wright leaned in.
He affirmed a God who genuinely grieves. A God who reverses course in response to real human choices. A God who looks like Jesus weeping at a tomb.
And all of that only makes sense if God's future is genuinely open, not already locked in from the start.
The wild part? He does nothing fancy to get there. He just reads the Bible in its own world and follows it where it goes.
