1 Samuel 15 says God regretted making Saul king. Then it says God is not a man that He should change His mind. Then it says He regretted it again.

That is intentional. The writer bookends the whole chapter with God's regret.

And the text even gives the cause. God turned away from Saul because Saul turned away from God. It is a deliberate piece of Hebrew wordplay.

So both things are true at once. God is not fickle like a man who flips on a whim. And God genuinely grieved and reversed course in response to a real person making real choices.

The church is holding ground against deception and division—the things that fracture unity. And the armor? Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation. These protect a unified community from forces that want to tear it apart. Paul gets this imagery from Isaiah 59, where God wears the armor. Now the church wears it.
