Paul says something about contentment that I find deeply hopeful: he learned it.

In Philippians 4, Paul says he learned how to live with abundance and with hunger. Contentment did not arrive as a personality trait. It developed through practice.

That connects with the manna story. Israel gathered one day at a time. And it connects with the Lord’s Prayer: “Give us this day our daily bread.” The prayer returns our attention to today’s provision.

Contentment grows when we practice seeing what has been given for this day.

Try this question: “What has been given for today?” Keep the answer concrete. Food. Breath. Work worth doing. A person you love. A place to rest.

If your picture of God makes every answer feel complicated, the free Quiz at theoverlap.life/quiz can help you identify which of five common lies may be shaping your faith. #Contentment #DailyBread #Philippians4 #LordsPrayer #Gratitude #ChristianLiving #OverlapLife
