Here's something most Christians don't understand: Not all theological disagreements are created equal.
Some are gospel issues. Deny the deity of Christ? You've left Christian orthodoxy.
Some create boundaries between church traditions. Baptism. Church governance. These matter, but a Presbyterian and a Baptist can both love Jesus.
And some allow for disagreement within the same local church. The timing of the rapture. Views on the millennium.
This is called theological triage. And we desperately need it.
Because we've been treating every disagreement like a first-order issue. We've been dividing over secondary and tertiary matters. We've been demanding uniformity instead of practicing unity.
The nature of hell? It's genuinely debated among faithful Christians. It's not a test of orthodoxy. It's not a gospel issue.
And when we treat it like one, we violate the very unity Jesus prayed for.
We need to recover the ability to disagree on secondary issues while staying committed to Scripture. That's not compromise. That's maturity.
