Hofgut Sternen - The Black Forest Village lies within Germany's largest nature reserve, The Souther Black Forest Nature Park. This Black Forest Village has been a tourist stop for hundreds of years, making a historical tourist trap! There are a lot of things to experience in this the Black Forest in this village. They have glass-blowing demonstrations in a glass shop, a black forest cake demonstration, cuckoo clock demonstrations with a large cuckoo clock in the center of the village. There is also a historic inn and restaurant. Marie Antoinette, Ernest Hemingway and possibly Mark Twain visited here. There are walks up to historical Ravenna viaduct and to St. Oswalds' Chapel with an incredible crypt underneath. Gallows hill, where executions used to take place, now has goats. In 1985 it became the Drubba Black Forest when it was purchased by the Drubba family. The oldest part of the village is a 700-year -old horse fountain from the time it was a horse changing station.
