I review the Indicator LE release of the first Sergio Sollima Western, THE BIG GUNDOWN. This remains one of the best Italian Westerns and has seen a variety of release edits and practically no home video releases before Blu-ray. The Indicator release vaults ahead in supplements and presentations of the film including the full length Italian original version with a hybrid English and Italian mono track.
Loaded with hours of incredible extras this is a must. This is easily the best presentation this film has ever received. A perfect place to start if you’ve never seen an Italian Western outside of Sergio Leone’s films. One of the rare handful of Italian western physical media releases without a major transfer flaw or other various issue.
