Hey everyone! I just love The AristoCats and since I made hat inspired by Marie for this April, I wanted to include the other kitten cuties. This easy crochet hat is inspire by Toulouse and his laid-back attitude. I hope you guys like this pattern and try it out. This pattern and most of my other hat pattern are for both male and female. Just pick different colors to fit the person.

Boye Aluminum Crochet Hook size H-8 (5mm)
Caron Simply Soft Yarn in Melon and Country Blue ( 6 oz, 315 yrds, #4 medium) 1 ball of each color
Removable Stitch Marker
Tapestry Needle

Gauge:
16 sc and 15 rows = 4"

Size:
19" at bottom of hat.

Instructions: (hat is worked from crown down to brim)
Crown - Starting with blue yarn;
Ch 4, sl st in first ch to form ring. Place marker for beginning of round. (removable stitch marker work best)
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in ring - 6 sts
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st - 12 sts
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st; rep from * around - 18 sts
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts; rep from * around - 24 sts
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts; rep from * around - 30 sts
Rnd 6: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts; rep from * around - 36 sts
Rnd 7: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts; rep from * around - 42 sts
Rnd 8: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 6 sts; rep from * around - 48 sts
Rnd 9: Ch 3, dc in same space, dc in next 7 sts, *2 dc in next st, dc in next 7 sts; rep from * around - 54
Switch to orange yarn.
Rnd 10: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 8 sts; rep from * around - 60 sts
Rnd 11: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 9 sts; rep from * around - 66 sts
Rnd 12: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 10 sts; rep from * around - 72 sts
Rnd 13: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 11 sts; rep from * around - 78 sts
Switch to blue yarn.
Rnd 14: Ch 3, dc in each st around.
Switch to orange yarn.
Rnd 15 - 18: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 19 - 28: Repeat Rnds 14-18 twice. Use blue on the 14th rnd repeat.
Rnd 29: Hdc in each st around, (in blue yarn) sl st to first st. Fasten off.

Brim: (top side)
Fold hat in half, place marker, count 11 sts to the right of the marker, place marker, count 11 sts to the left of your marker, place marker. 22 sts in total.
Row 1: With right side facing, sc in next 22 sts in front loops only.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across, sc in back loops in next 4 sts on hat - 26 sts
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across, sc in front loops in next 4 sts on hat - 30 sts
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across, sc in back loop of next st on hat - 31 sts
Row 5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across, sc in front loop of next st on hat - 32 sts
Row 6: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across, sc in back loop of next st on hat - 33 sts
Row 7: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across, sc in front loop of next st on hat - 34 sts
Fasten off.

Brim: (bottom side)
Row 1: With wrong side facing, sc in back loops of first set of 22 sts.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across, sc in front loops in next 4 sts on hat - 26 sts
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across, sc in back loops in next 4 sts on hat - 30 sts
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across, sc in front loop of next st on hat - 31 sts
Row 5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across, sc in back loop of next st on hat - 32 sts
Row 6: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across, sc in front loop of next st on hat - 33 sts
Row 7: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across, sc in back loop of next st on hat - 34 sts
Fasten off.

You could add cardboard or stiff interfacing to make your brim firm. Sew top and bottom of brim together to close it. Weave in ends and enjoy!
