Hey everyone! The first hat of 2015 is Hermione's eyelet cable hat from Harry Potter and The Half-blood Prince. For those Potter fans out there you know what hat I'm talking about and for those of you who don't know, this is just a cute cabled hat. I hope you guys enjoy this one because I think it turned out pretty good. Let me know down below what your favorite hat from any Harry Potter film is.

Items Used:
Clover Interchangeable Bamboo 16" Circular needle size 6 (4mm)
Bernat Softee Baby Yarn in Flannel (5oz, 362yds, 3ply light) 1 ball
Stitch Marker
Tapestry Needle

Gauge:
18 sts & 32 rows = 4" in cable pattern.
20 sts & 24 rows = 4" in k1, p1 rib pattern.

Size:
19" to 22" approx.
Which averages pre-teen to adult.

Instructions:
Cast on 100 sts

Rib: *K1, P1; rep from * around.
Repeat rib pattern for 9 rows or 1 1/2".

Setup/Inc: *K8, P5, K8, P4, M1P; rep from * around - 104 sts

Eyelet Cable Pattern: multiples of 13 sts
Row 1 & 3: *K8, P5; rep from * around.
Row 2 and all even rows: *K8, P5; rep from * around.
Row 5: *K8, P1, YO, P2tog, P2; rep from * around.
Row 7: *K8, P2, YO, P2tog, P1; rep from * around.
Row 9: *K8, P3, YO, P2tog; rep from * around.
Row 11: *K4B (slip 4 sts on cable needle hold back, K4 off left needle, K4 off cable needle), P5; rep from * around.
Repeat Rows 1 through 12 for pattern.

Repeat Rows 1 through 12 of pattern, 4 times total for the body of our hat.
NOTE: Only repeat a total of 3 times for a shorter version.

Hat Decreases:
Row 1: *K8, P3, P2tog; rep from * around.
Row 2: *K8, P4; rep from * around.
Row 3: *K8, P2, P2tog; rep from * around.
Row 4: *K8, P3; rep from * around.
Row 5: *K8, P1, P2tog; rep from * around.
Row 6: *SSK, K4, K2tog, P2tog; rep from * around.
Row 7: *SSK, K2, K2tog, P1; rep from * around.
Row 8: *SSK, K2tog, P1; rep from * around.
Row 9: *K2tog, P1; rep from * around - 16 sts

Cut yarn and pull top of hat closed. Weave in all remaining yarn and enjoy!
