Hey everyone! I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I do. This owl tea cozy is quite adorable. I've wanted to do a tea cozy for awhile now and this is what I ended up with. I did have inspiration from an online photo, but I had to make up the pattern on my own. Hope you guys enjoy.

Items:
Baby Bee Sweet Delight Yarn in Berry Cute (3ply, 4 oz, 60% Acrylic, 40% Polyamide)
Clover Bamboo Straight Needles size 5 (3.75mm)
Four Matching Buttons
Cable Needle

Size:
2 cup teapot

Measurements:
6 1/2" across
5" tall

Gauge:
20 sts and 36 rows = 4" in seed stitch.

Instructions: (make 2)
Cast on 33 sts
Work seed stitch for 2"
Row 1: *k1, P1; rep from * across
Repeat Row 1 for seed stitch pattern.

Knit 4 Rows (garter stitch)

Cable Pattern:
Knit first row
Increase: *K4, P6; rep from * twice, M1, K3

Now repeat rows 1 & 2 a total of 6 times

Row 1: Knit
Row 2: *K4, P6; rep from * twice more ending with K4

Cable Row:
Row 3: *K4, C3B (slip next 3 sts onto cn and hold in back, K3, K3 off cn); rep from * ending with K4

Repeat Row 2.
Repeat Rows 1 & 2 - 6 times total.
Work Row 3.

Repeat Row 2.
Repeat Rows 1 & 2 - 4 times total.

Button Hole:
Row 1: K7, BO 1, K6, C3B, K7, BO 1, K6
Row 2: K4, P3, CO 1, P2, K4, P6, K4, P2, CO 1, P3, K4

NOTE: You will also be working the button hole rows for the other side, just without the bind off hole or the cast on. Just work them as regular knit & purl stitches.

Repeat Rows 1 & 2
Knit Bind off.

Repeat from beginning to make other side of our cozy.

Sew side seams almost to the top of our seed stitch section.
Attach buttons back to back on side without the button holes, very loosely.

Place over teapot and enjoy.
