So, Duck Arcade made a series of games called "The Adventure of Super Mario", each featuring 3 different themes for the trilogy of games: Sky, Water, and Castle. The name of the trilogy honestly reminds me of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 cartoon, and to fact check that statement, the games mainly use music from Super Mario Bros. 3 as well.
Despite that though, the games are more related to Super Mario World due to the traced graphics (besides Mario), and many other elements. Though, the Shy Guys are taken from Super Mario Bros. 2, so there's that exception as well. And the Kamek boss, while easy, was pretty fun as well!
I'll admit, these are pretty fun and short games that represent Mario's gameplay pretty well! Even if there's still no running, of course. And I actually played this game after I done the Water longplay from the series, considering at the start you can still see the completion screen from that game for a second.
