With no further disasters (so far), everything has been progressing smoothly. Details are getting taken care of and checked off of the list, and it's coming down to getting the finish perfect enough to suit me. It may or may not have strings on it by Christmas day, but it's pretty probable by the end of the year.
I cheated and outsourced the inlaying of the rosette around the sound hole. A luthier at a local shop gave me a break on it because he likes what I'm doing, thereby saving me from spending a ton of money on tools I'll only use once in this life, as well as the time spent learning how to use them, and the threat that I might screw it up. He did a great job with it!
