The Puntledge River in Courtenay , BC , features a large pink salmon run especially on odd years. We weren't disappointed when we decided to check out the salmon run at Puntledge Park in August , 2025. Note that this area features water that may be flowing fast and the current can be strong so it is suggested that only strong swimmers attempt this. Also to enter the water over the cobbles and rounded river rocks you should wear sturdy water shoes. Otherwise all you need is a mask and snorkel and prepare to be amazed.
