🌿 To get started with sustainable gardening, first observe how nature works
🌳 Take a walk in the woods to see how nature grows in layers, from undergrowth to canopy
🌿 Plants grow together to complement each other
🤔 Think of ways to apply those layers in your backyard garden: from trees to shrubs to perennials to ground cover (use native plants as much as possible!)
🍃 To maintain and feed your garden, leave things where they fall
🍂 Leaves and organic matter help keep nutrients and moisture in the soil
🪱 They also provide food, habitat and shelter for insects, worms, microbes, pollinators and wildlife
⏳ Lastly remember that nature is a process, let her take her time in your garden
