Aaron Deacon from BIOS Nutrients is back on the podcast! This time he chats with Katie about bringing plants inside for winter.
⏰ So: WHEN should we bring our plant friends inside?
🌡️ Your best bet is to keep an eye on overnight temperatures
🥶 Once it gets below 7˚C (45˚F) overnight — bring those plants indoors
🌴As you know, your tropicals certainly won’t be able to handle plunging temperatures
🌼 But neither will your more tender annuals (like our fave — Gerbera daisies), so if there are any you want to overwinter, bring 'em in
🪴Less hardy herbs are also susceptible to lower temperatures, so bring those guys in, too
💡If you want herbs to thrive indoors, consider getting a grow light (more on that in the full episode—check it out!)
🌿 Perennials, of course, can stay outside
🪴But, tender bulbs and rhizomes should come in and can be stored in a paper bag
Check out the full episode here: youtube.com/watch?v=DS1IJa3kks0
We also cover the season's hottest topic: how to remove pests (BUGS!) from plants before bringing them indoors. Plus, how NOT to overwater, humidity levels and why a gentle fan can help stave off fungal diseases!
