The mighty and famous Santa Fe colors lives on the BNSF...kind of! Former Santa Fe Super Fleet C44-9Ws and B40-8Ws, have found homes in the Twin Cities area. They are currently dominating the transfers, locals, and other assignments out of Northtown Yard, having pushed put a number of the SD40-2s. The timeless WARBONNET lives!
Having been merged away nearly 30 years ago now, its rather tough to find anything Santa Fe on the rails these days. Recently, a LOT of former ATSF units have found a new home in the Twin Cities. We'll watch as these units work different assignments, and still earn their keep on the BNSF all these years later. These classics are found in all sorts of jobs, weather conditions, and places in the Twin Cities; even on CPKC trains!
