Here for you enjoyment is a longer extended and re-graded version of the Supercell video I created last year. Shot in 4K using a Sony F5 and R5 raw recorder this is a compilation of footage from around 3 weeks of Storm Chasing in May 2013. The large tornado at the end occurred near Bennington Kansas. To watch in 4K choose "2160" under the size options.

The term "Supercell" describes a particularly violent and long lived type of thunderstorm. Supercell storms are responsible for the majority of strong tornadoes. The storms and cloud formations in this video are all from Supercell storms. In some clips you will see distinctly green clouds, this is often a sign of very large hail within the storm. Supercell storms rotate and it is this rotation that helps the storm stay organised and last a long time.
