I've been using this compact 19" rack for some time both in my home studio or on location for live production, DIT and post production jobs. I originally used several of Blackmagic Designs 4K/6G units including an Atem 1M/E production switcher, Hyperdeck studio and UltraStudio. But, while these units worked well, even though I changed to internal fans for quieter ones they were still noisy and generated a lot of heat. So, with som big jobs coming up I decided to update the units to the latest Blackmagic Constellation switcher, 12G Hyperdeck Studio Pro and Ultrastudio Mini. The new units are a lot quieter and use a lot less power so I can use the rack in my camper van or run it of a Solar Generator for mobile production for much longer. In this video I take a look at what's in the rack and the update to the new units.

01:35 The importance of having a dedicated video output for grading and post production.
02:05 What else is in the box - thunderbolt, network, UVC capture.
02:50 Why I wanted to upgrade.
04:20 What new models did I get?
04:31 The Constellation 4K vision mixer
04:41 New Thunderbolt hub
05:15 Ultrastudio 4K mini.

10:35 Summary.
