🎥 Watch the Beginner Curl Series to learn the routines that help curls last longer between wash days.
Do you feel like you have to restart your curls every morning? 🙋🏻♀️
If your curls look worse the next day and refreshing feels like a full restyle, curly hair quickly starts to feel like too much work. But most of the time the problem isn’t your hair. It’s the approach.
This is the Minimal Refresh Method I teach my clients.
👉🏼Start with Level 0: Do nothing.
After taking down your sleep protection, shake the roots, lift the crown, and give your curls time to settle before automatically grabbing water or products. A lot of times the shape comes back on its own.
👉🏼If they still need help, move to Level 1: Dry refresh.
Use your hands to gently reorganize curl groups, tuck away frizz, and adjust the shape. You’re not rebuilding the curl pattern, just refining what’s already there.
👉🏼If they're still frizzy or elongated, move to Level 2: Water Only Refresh
Wet your hands (not your whole head), and pick up curls that need a little help. Smooth the water onto them to tame frizz. Shake & scrunch. Diffuse to restore shape if needed. This is key!
After each level, ask yourself one question:
Is this good enough to wear today?
If the answer is yes, stop there. 🛑
If no, move to Level 3: Product Refresh.
