There are few alpine lakes in the central Cascade Mountains that offer both easy access and are not overcrowded. Stirrup Lake is one of these rare oases. Nestled in a saddle between Meadow Mountain and Big Muffin, it offers a tranquil escape where you can enjoy the peaceful rhythms of nature. The forest service road to the trailhead is rough, and a high-clearance vehicle is recommended, but the trail is well-maintained and suitable for hikers of all ages and abilities.
