Little Kachess Lake is the upper portion of Kachess Lake (a reservoir) that becomes separated from the main, lower lake when water levels drop during summer. Since larger powerboats can’t access Little Kachess during this time, it becomes an ideal spot for small watercraft of all kinds. In this video, we hike around the northwest edge of the popular Kachess Campground to an island — soon to become a peninsula — within the upper reaches of Little Kachess Lake. This area is a great place to enjoy water sports, relax, and cool off during the long, hot days of summer.
