Earlier this year I archived the adventure game Still Life which offered a very unique and cool experience where you invested a crime in two different time lines. The atmosphere on the modern sections was heavily inspired by the movie Seven and I found the game really charming, so I had high hopes for the sequel. But the sequel was a big dissapointment.
The type of gameplay has also completely changed as it now tries to be a more CSI experience where you collect and analyze clues. This might sound interesting on paper, but the result is a frustrating trial and error of different devices to progress. Much of the game also takes place in the same environment and it makes it feel very repetitive and boring. This is probably one of the weakest sequels I have ever seen in gaming. But those are of course also very important to archive so that they are not lost to time. Because every game deserves to be remembered and talked about and analyzed. Nowadays it is very difficult to get this game running properly, so I am still happy and proud that I was able to archive this despite not enjoying the game very much.
