Though the initial launch was a bit rocky, Imaginary Friend Institution has received multiple updates and is now playable from beginning to end. Therefore we are archiving this game today and properly continue the awesome story that was set up in the first game.
We play as Annabelle who is held in a giant institution togehter with her friends from the Asylum. Each kid has their own unqiue Imaginary Friend that accompanies them and they are the absolute highlight of the game. Each Imaginary Friend is so colorful, vibrant and full of personality.
Instead of a first person perspective, we play now in third person and have a much bigger location to explore. The environments are great and detailed and throughout the game I really started to find my way through the building. This time there are also proper cutscenes with voice acting which is really cool and a step up from the previous game. Some of the voices are even done by some big YouTubers so fans might recognize their favorites.
The game is also not afraid to explore some darker themes and all in all it sets up a great story and mystery that will be continued. Hopefully in the next chapter we will spend more time with the Imaginary Friends and maybe even play as a few of them!
