The STIHL ADVANCE series of PPE was designed to match the demands of hard-working forestry, landscaping and arborist professionals. It features our most comfortable, breathable, flexible and wear-resistant materials and fabrics, with designs to keep you comfortable and protected in tough working environments. Within the ADVANCE series, there’s a range of chainsaw trousers, jackets, boots, gloves, helmets and base layers.
In this video, we'll show a selection of chainsaw jackets and trousers that can be mixed and matched to suit the environment and season you’re working in.
The STIHL X-VENT jacket is lightweight and highly breathable, suited to warmer temperatures or more physically intense jobs. It has high-visibility orange accents as well as black areas, plus silver mesh lining at the back, underarms and in the pockets for optimal ventilation. It’s also water and dirt resistant, has reflective areas and multiple pockets, plus abrasion protection on the shoulders.
Our X-SHELL jacket is highly elastic, designed mostly for arboriculture and forestry, but equally at home for landscaping. It is best suited to the autumn and wnter seasons. Black fabric areas are water-resistant and breathable whilst coloured peat or orange areas are waterproof and breathable. There’s also a number of pockets and abrasion protection on the shoulders. The X-SHELL STIHL jacket is very versatile and goes well with ADVANCE X-FLEX Chainsaw trousers, MultiProtect Hedge trimmer trousers and the FS 3 Protect brushcutter trousers.
The X-LIGHT STIHL chainsaw trousers are the lightest in the range. They’re made from ultra-light, extremely breathable AVERTIC™ pro lite cut protection material, developed exclusively for STIHL. They are a design A trouser, meaning they have front chainsaw protection only. The lightweight ventilation fabric on the back of the leg make these trousers perfect for hot days, whilst the full-elasticated crotch with ProElast makes them flexible in the areas that need it. Closable pockets keep the contents secure with reflective areas for better visibility.
STIHL X-FLEX chainsaw trousers are also made from our AVERTIC™ cut protection material. Like our X-LIGHT trousers, they have six layers of protective fabric and there’s a choice of Design A with front chainsaw protection or Design C with all round protection. X-FLEX trousers are designed to be very flexible to allow full freedom of movement, with hardwearing outer fabrics that are both elasticated and breathable.
There’s elasticated and waterproof knee protection, plus thorn and water-resistant material in the lower leg area where it’s most needed. They are dirt resistant and for the warmer days or tougher tasks, there are long ventilation zips on the back of the legs. The high-tech fibres mean that the clothing is lightweight, breathable and provides excellent protection from rain and cold.
Our STIHL X-TREEm Jacket and X-TREEm chainsaw trousers were designed specifically for arborists. The jacket features ProElast material giving impressive freedom of movement and breathability, and has removable sleeves and adjustable ventilation openings. Ceramic dots on the elbows and shoulders offer abrasion protection. There are large areas of high-visibility orange too. And to finish the jacket off, there are two breast pockets, one inside pocket and one sleeve pocket.
The X-TREEm trousers have exceptional levels of comfort for cut protection trousers, which is down to the use of ProElast- stretchable fabrics specifically developed for STIHL, making them perfect for professional use under extreme conditions. Suitable for forestry work, they’re made from dirt and water-resistant materials in the front of the leg area. Again, ceramic-coated areas provide abrasion protection. The lightweight 6 layers of breathable AVERTIC™ pro lite cut protection material provides chainsaw protection for the front of the legs. There are also flat pockets with zips on the hip, behind and thigh areas, plus ventilation openings with zips for cooling. In addition, to help them stay in place whilst moving around the tree, braces are included.
