Playthrough | Part 1: Easy Route
Before I begin, RIP to Rick May & Jock Blaney.
This game needs no introduction. You guys know that it was inevitable that I would do this. Since I did do Star Fox on the SNES, may as well do this game. This is Star Fox 64.
Star Fox 64 was released in Japan on April 27, 1997. North America wouldn't get it until June 30th and PAL regions on October 4th. Funny enough, it was released in China for the iQue Player in November 2003. It would be the first game to support the Rumble Pak. Star Fox 64 would go on to sell 4 million copies and would be the 9th best-selling game on the N64. Plus it's listed as the 45th greatest game of all time by Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition in 2009. It's deemed as one of the greatest video games of all time. This game would get a remaster for the 3DS in 2011 as Star Fox 64 3D. Star Fox Zero, a reimagining of 64 would be released in 2016 on the Wii U. And in June of this year, a remake of this game will be on the Switch 2, titled Star Fox.
The story is told in the game itself. Andross would turn the once thriving Lylat System into a wasteland of near extinction. Gen. Pepper of the Corneria Army had exiled the mad scientist to Venom. Five years later, Gen. Pepper would notice some strange things happened. He hired the Star Fox team led by James McCloud to investigate. James along with Peppy Hare and Pigma Dengar would head for Venom. But then disaster struck. Pigma would betray the team. James and Peppy would get captured by Andross. Peppy would barely escape, returning to tell James' son Fox what became of his dad. A few years later, Andross would invade the Lylat System. Gen. Pepper would require the need of Star Fox once more. This time, a new team has formed led by James' son Fox McCloud. Fox along with Peppy Hare, a mechanic named Slippy Toad and the team's ace Falco Lombardi, the team would head off to save the Lylat System from Andross and his forces.
That's pretty much it. As for the game, my focus is essentially towards going through each stage from start to finish. But depending on how skilled you are, your path will change. In this case, we first focus on the Easy Route.
They consist of the following: Corneria, Meteo, Fortuna (Fichina), Sector X, Titania, Bolse and Venom. I'm a bit rusty so please cut me some slack. That and I wish I had the Switch 2 Pro Controller. It would help a lot.
Part 2 will have us doing the Medium Route but it will end with Bolse. There's a reason for that.
