Although very similar to actual sparring, these drills are of a more psychological nature: they evolve from the ability to keep a clear mind under pressure, allowing you to consciously protect yourself, keep your eyes on your opponent all the time and be ready to counter attack in an efficient and technically sound way. You should not flinch, look down or the other way, and most importantly, you should never freeze. The same drills can be done with more protective gear (headguards) and almost full power.
