STAN FOSTER
British composer, arranger and conductor who mainly was active as arranger for vocalists such as Alma Cogan, Patsie Jones and Ronnie Carroll.
As far as we know, Foster recorded only two orchestral albums, one being "Music The Kaempfert Way" and the other one titled "Twenties music my way".
Occasionally he used the pseudonym "Stan Forrest" and his work was released through different record companies eg EMI, Philips, Capitol and Columbia Records.

Besides Stan Foster, several other artists recorded albums which featured (only) the music of Bert Kaempfert.
Among them : Al Hirt, Pete Fountain, Anita Kerr, Johnny Mathis, Paul Kuhn and Jiggs Whigham. Several others recorded mixed "Bacharach-Kaempfert" albums, eg Connie Francis.

Well, it isn't Bert Kaempfert playing here and it's not an Original Kaempfert composition, but one must admit that the makers of this album "Music The Kaempfert Way" did listen intensively to Bert's sound. So, yes, it's a copy in a way, but a "damn good one" if you ask me. The percussive muted brass, the soft melody, the typical Kaempfert bass sound, and even the wordless vocals : it's all present here. Easy going smooth music, and a great tribute to the legendary Bert Kaempfert.
