MFF : Take a cow's horn, make a little hole at the pointed end with a tough kind of spiderweb, and you have an instrument which is played in Africa. This instument is called a "mirliton" and it makes a buzzy sound when you blow or sing through it.
ED MACIEL
Ed Maciel was a Brazilian composer, arranger and trombone player who resided in Rio De Janeiro.
He started his career as first trombonist of the Orquestra Sinfônica do Teatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro. He soon appeared as a studio musician in several popular Brazilian bands and worked together with a.o. Ary Barroso (composer of the legendary "Brazil").
He founded his own orchestra in 1966 and recorded a dozen albums - one each year - until early 1978.
Other people with whom he worked are Edu Lobo, Chico Buarque, Francis Hime, João Gilberto, Elizeth Cardoso, Marcos Valle, Miucha, Wilson Simonal, Ney Matogrosso, Maria Bethânia, Gal Costa and Milton Nascimento.

Trini Lopez, the American singer to whom reference is made here in the title, had the Gibson Guitar Corporation ask him in 1964 to design a guitar for them. He ended up designing two: The Trini Lopez Standard; a rock and roll model based on the Gibson ES-335 semi-hollow body, and the Lopez Deluxe, a variation of a Gibson jazz guitar designed by Barney Kessel. Both of these guitars were in production from 1964 until 1971 and are now highly sought after amongst collectors
