Formed in Croydon, UK, the band originally comprised Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs along with guest vocalists. Pretty soon, they settled on Sarah Cracknell and the band was set. Their first album, “Foxbase Alpha” was released in the UK in 1991 on the Heavenly label and made it to #34. The US release was on Warners.
The album featured three UK hit singles, a revival of Neil Young’s “Only Love Can Break Your Heart”, “Kiss And Make Up” and “Nothing Can Stop Us”. The later reached #54 in the UK.
The band have continued to perform and record; their last album being “Home Counties” in 2017.
