Splatoon Raiders is out now exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2, and this video covers the first 30 minutes, taking in the opening cutscenes, character creation, the tutorial and the first two Treasure Raids.
Captured on Nintendo Switch 2.
Splatoon Raiders is the first standalone spin-off in the Splatoon franchise's eleven year history and a major departure from what came before, swapping competitive Turf War and Ranked Battles for a single player focused PvE looter shooter. You play as the Mechanic, a fully customisable character who crash lands on the mysterious Spirhalite Islands alongside Deep Cut, the idol trio of Shiver, Frye and Big Man from Splatoon 3. Working from the Hideout Ship, you raid Salmonid held territory for treasure, loot and gear upgrades, with a member of Deep Cut accompanying each raid in an Exploration Bot to fend off enemies and drill for goodies.
This opening 30 minutes covers the setup, the character creation options, the tutorial introducing the weapons and mechanical gadgets, and the first two Treasure Raids, giving a proper look at the core gameplay loop of raiding, looting and upgrading. Optional co-op for up to four players is available online or via local wireless, but the campaign itself is designed as a single player experience.
Whether you are a Splatoon fan wondering if the spin-off delivers, or curious about how a PvE Splatoon plays, this first look covers everything. Subscribe for more Splatoon Raiders and Nintendo Switch 2 content.
