Star Fox has returned on Nintendo Switch 2 as a full remake of the beloved Nintendo 64 classic Lylat Wars, and a free demo dropped today alongside the June 2026 Nintendo Direct. This video covers Mission 02 from the demo in full, giving a first look at how Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team play on Nintendo Switch 2 hardware.
Developed by Velan Studios and published by Nintendo, Star Fox is a Switch 2 exclusive remake featuring intense aerial combat across the Lylat System as Fox McCloud leads his mercenary squad against Dr. Andross. The demo includes the tutorial and the Meteo asteroid field stage, and this video covers the full Mission 02 gameplay from start to finish. The remake features brand new cutscenes including never before seen mission briefings, and brings Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, Slippy Toad and Peppy Hare back together with updated visuals and a story that expands on the original. Star Fox launches in full on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 25th 2026.
