Total Chaos arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on April 29th 2026 and this video gives a first look at the psychological survival horror game at launch. Developed by Sam Prebble of Trigger Happy Interactive, the creator of Turbo Overkill, and published by Apogee Entertainment in partnership with Atari label Infogrames, Total Chaos began life as an award winning total conversion mod for DOOM II before evolving into a fully standalone survival horror experience.
Set across nine harrowing chapters in the decaying ruins of Fort Oasis, an abandoned coal mining island shrouded in madness and mystery, Total Chaos blends the best of classic and modern survival horror. Players scavenge and craft weapons, unravel a deeply unsettling mystery through environmental storytelling, and battle grotesque creatures with unpredictable behaviour while their grip on sanity slowly erodes. The Nintendo Switch 2 version runs at 1080p docked and 720p in handheld mode with unlocked frame rate modes targeting 60fps, and includes the full New Game Plus update with an alternate ending and the new stalker enemy The Hunter. The game also supports Joy-Con 2 mouse and gyro controls.
