FULL INTERVIEW - Green Energy Futures interview with Michael Liebreich on the Spanish Blackouts and why it was not caused by renewables.
We interviewed Michael before the report on causes came out from the Spanish Government, but he nailed it.
Michael Liebreich is a consultant, energy expert and the founder of Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
David Dodge presents our guide to grid stability in the age of energy transition and the rapid expansion of renewable energy around the world.
We talk about how the grid works in Spain (and elsewhere), the challenges of integrating renewable energy and we share one solution that neither renewable energy advocates nor conventional utilities are advocating.
It's called "Flexible Gas" a cost effective solution not to get to 100% renewables, but to get almost all the way there keep the grid stable and benefit from plenty of cheap renewable energy.
Spoiler alert - flexible gas is NOT about socalled baseload power.
