Trade wars, economic crisis - it's led Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to launch so-called "Nation Building" projects.
But Evan Ferrari of Emerge Guelph Sustainability believes what's needed are massive-scale nation-building projects that take climate action by retrofitting buildings or expanding electrification in transportation instead of the fossil fuel, mining, nuclear, and container ports that were announced.
Green technologies are booming around the world, and by taking on the really big task of retrofitting millions of buildings, he says we generate local jobs, exportable know-how, and energy security.
