Last week (June 10-11, 2025) the Southern Baptist Convention met in Dallas, Texas. In my opinion, it was a mixed bag. Some good things happened, and some not-so-good things happened. Some of the resolutions were very good—for example, the resolution on gender & marriage, as well as the resolution standing against chemical abortion pills.

There were three major issues that I knew would come up. Here were the results:

1. A constitutional amendment limited the office of pastor to men failed
2. A motion to abolish the ERLC failed
3. A motion to required transparency within the entities failed
