SOULMATE, SOULMATE

From my 2019 album, Hiding In The Spotlight.
I wanted to do something fun this time, using some 80s Synth and a toe tapping beat. So here's the result...
Story-wise it is about as cheesy as you can get. It's simply a 'boy meets girl but boy is too shy to talk' type of story.
Within the recording it's a pretty simple set up; a couple of guitars, bass and synth all played by me. Lots of backing vocals and harmonies (also all me).
I must confess I did cheat a wee bit when it came to the bass. The song is at 144 bpm and my fingers just couldn't play the song cleanly at that speed so I dropped the project to 100 bpm, payed the bass part, sped the project back up to 144 bpm and problem sorted LOL
I recently also purchased the Kazrog True Iron Plugin (it's a Transistor Emulator) and I ended up using it on every track, even the vocal tracks. It's such a good plugin. It's subtle but it does make a difference.
The video was just me mucking around on my iPad sketching the characters of the song. There's about 130 individual sketches all up, then I just shoved it into iMovie.
