Continuing on with the Worst Weapon runs of Soul Edge this time around with Voldo and his LIGHTNING FAST But super weak Iron Claw. The run will also be completed on the Ultra Hard difficulty with No Continues. Lets take a look below at Voldo's Iron Claw stats in numbers:
Iron Claw -
Power: 50.0% (Lowest)
Defense: 80.0%
Strength: 37.5%
Durability: 50.0%
Weight: 1 Bar/1.25 Speed (Highest Speed Multiplier)
Range: 0.81
Pierce Damage: 0%
Pierce Weakness: 15%
Special Effects: None
As you can see by the stats, this is yet another one of those Fast but Weak weapons batch in that the only redeeming factor of the weapon is the Speed but Voldo's Iron Claw manages to be the most extreme of the bunch but in a somewhat good way actually. The Iron Claw is tied for the lowest Power of all weapons at a pitiful 50.0% but the Speed... Holy Cow... its a staggering 1.25 Speed Modifier which means all of Voldo's weapon attacks will be 25% quicker. This is INSANE for Voldo as while if you compare him to fast characters like Taki and Li Long, those 2 characters will still win in the frame data department but... Voldo becomes EXTREMELY safe with the Iron Claw as with that ridiculous amount of Speed means that pretty much all of his moves will either become completely safe on block, turn some strings into natural combos and much more. The Range is only at 0.81 which is actually the only weapon for Voldo that has less reach then his standard weapon (like with Sophitia and her Sword Breaker) but for Voldo that isnt a problem as the actual range of his moves comes from his Height and the way he swings his whole body around for his moves. Because of the very low Power the Iron Claw has, it will take quite alot of hits to actually defeat the opponent with it so most of the time, the footsies game of Voldo will be used to fish for the highest amount of Ring-Outs possible and Voldo can really pull that off thanks to his insane whiff punish game that gets upped to 11 with the Speed of the Iron Claw. Voldo's massive counter hitting damage will still be really significant even with that low Power going for the Iron Claw and man during the recording despite its low Power, its a really fun weapon to use as Voldo can really exploit its one good Stat to its absolute fullest. Voldo also has really good movement as he covers alot of distance with his back dashes in particular which helps to mitigate the need to even block moves as with the Low Defense and the 15% Pierce Weakness forces you to rely on movement more. As a final note: Voldo's Forward, Forward, A+B+G becomes much easier to loop into itself making the Iron Claw the best weapon to get his Infinite off but it still leaves you somewhat open if the opponent blocks so i refrain from using it in the video. Definitely a very fun weapon to use as Voldo is really suited to play that fundamental/footsies game.
