Playthrough of Real Robot Battle Line Haman Route for the PS1 part 2. In this part i will be taking on the Iron Gear map after making sure everyone is setup correctly. This is the only map in the whole game where i break my No Casualty/Perfect Play rule but i will explain below why after explaining everything else about this map as its quite gimmicky. Initially the enemies in this map are actually the whole Iron Gear crew which is right beside the party and then Elche Cargo, Geraba, Horla and Timp who were allies on the “Black Temptation” map are CPU controlled allies who are now alongside a Generic Pilot on the Dugger and another Commander named Greta Callas who is piloting a Doran. Now its no surprise that the Black Temptation map is a setup so the party not knowing better, ended up helping the enemy as when turn 2 rolls around, the Iron Gear crew will become allies and Brainwashed Elche’s crew will now become the actual enemies. Basically in the beginning, Chill tries to explain the situation to Musica but theres confusion in the 1st turn, you can destroy members of the Iron Gear much to Chill’s dismay and they award money. If you destroy all of them on turn 1, the map ends abruptly and every member of the Iron Gear destroyed will count as casualties and the Repair Cost of their mechs will be applied after the map is over despite them being enemies in the beginning as they will join the party afterwards regardless of the outcome… However because the Repair Cost of Walker Machines is so low and even gets halved thanks to the Economical ability, the absolute best way to earn as much money as possible in this map is to basically destroy all but one member of the Iron Gear and then let turn 2 roll around and destroy the enemies. So the strategy that i use is that i let Dyke alive as he has the Good Luck command and then i fight the actual enemies like normal while abusing Good Luck as much as possible which is why Dyke is the one to best stay in the end. The actual enemies are upgraded very little at this point in the game so even if Dyke is on a stock Dugger, he wont have much issue hitting Commanders from the back to finish them but if i cant hit them from the back but Dyke has a chance to hit them, i will just do the good old inbattle savescumming until i get the hit. Once this map is over, the entire Iron Gear crew will join and by leaving Dyke alive the total Repair Cost comes in at 5400$ which is a pitiful amount compared to what you can earn overall by destroying them and that’s exactly why i broke my No Casualty rule here (and put “Perfect Play” under quotation as well) as number 1: They are not technically party members in the beginning so its odd that the game does make you incur Repair Cost. Number 2: You get way more money by destroying them and lose almost nothing so there very little incentive to not destroy them as the map itself is pretty much free as well so the Perfect Play of this map is to go in like this as going for No Casualty means way less money. One thing to keep in mind is that in this route, Toron doesn’t join the party regardless if she gets destroyed or not so you wont have a copy of a Caprico to use making upgrading it not a good idea in this path. Basically i check the parts that i have equipped and change around on what mechs the characters are piloting but i will leave the upgrading for later. As always i will be detailing everything in the comments.
