Continuing on with the Worst Weapon runs of Soul Edge this time around with Mitsurugi and his Powerful but frail Onimaru. The run will also be completed on the Ultra Hard difficulty with No Continues. Lets take a look below at Mitsurugi's Onimaru stats in numbers:
Onimaru -
Power: 119.9%
Defense: 70.2%
Strength: 100.0%
Durability: 43.7%
Weight: 5 Bars/0.98 Speed
Range: 1.19
Pierce Damage: 30%
Pierce Weakness: 15%
Special Effects: 8% Self-Damage per swing
Now the Onimaru is the first weapon that belongs to the "Powerful but drains Energy" batch of weapons where they have a tendency to have above the 100.0% Power but typically has much lower Defenses and of course, have the Self-Damage effect into then. Typically those weapons also have varying % amounts of both Pierce Damage and Pierce Weakness which further increases they offensiveness but also decreases their defensiveness. Onimaru is the perfect example of how those batch of weapons tend to work as if you look at its stats, only its Power is above the 100.0% while everything else is either neutral or lower save for the Range as it actually has more at 1.19 modifier and most of then have one thing in common: They are pretty much all terrible. In the case of Onimaru, you are getting a 19.9% increase to your Power alongside a 30% Pierce Damage but at the cost of having a pitiful 70.2% Defense, 43.7% Durability making it easy to break and a 15% Pierce Weakness. Its also slower at 0.98 Speed making it the only weapon for Mitsurugi that is actually heavier/slower. Now Mitsurugi's weapons overall are really freaking good so this is his only weapon that makes him perform worse then his standard weapon in most cases as that amount of Defense means a powerful hit will put quite a dent on him. Its also worth noting that with the Onimaru, you are essentially dishing out less damage that you can actually take as its a 19.9% Power increase minus 29.8% less defense so you are always at a disadvantage during equal exchanges and thats obviously not good. The Onimaru also pales completely when compared to his Ultimate Weapon as its basically a better version of it on almost every stat except its durability. Despite how poor the Onimaru is, Mitsurugi can still take advantage of its Power + Pierce Damage in a similar manner to the Murasame but 10 times as bootleg and still manages to complete the entire run without continuing and it only took 1 try as well. One thing that i will mention about the Onimaru is that its definitely one of the better looking weapons in the game with its Full-on Blood Red Color which is fitting for a Sword that has "Demon/Devil" in its name.
