Ladies and Gentleman! After the conclusion of my Special Weapon Runs where i showcased 2 of the best overall weapons for each characters that differs from their Ultimate Weapons, a few comments on these videos also showed interest in me doing the same but instead of the best weapons, they wanted to see how the worst of then would fare. Beginning today i will be showcasing each character where i use their worst possible weapon and see how they would fare. As always i will be starting with my Main Cervantes and i will be using his Fast but very weak Main Gauche. The run will be completed on the Ultra Hard difficulty without continuing. Lets take a look below at Cervantes Main Gauche stats in numbers:
Main Gauge -
Power: 79.7%
Defense: 80.0%
Strength: 56.2%
Durability: 56.2%
Weight: 2 Bars/1.08 Speed
Range: 1.02
Pierce Damage: 0%
Pierce Weakness: 0%
Special Effects: None
As you can see, the Main Gauche belongs to those batch of weapons that pretty much sacrifices all of its stats to have less Weight or more Speed as it has a pretty good 1.08 Speed. Now those types of weapons are very poorly balanced as they always overcompensate the great speed that they have but the weapon sucks everywhere else. For the devs they must have throught that Speed was a really overpowered stat and to a certain extent it is as it changes all of the character frame data when it comes to weapon attacks which can make certain moves become a natural combo and making unsafe moves safe. To compensate for it everything else has to suck which in the end makes the weapon having a much worse consistency even when compared to their standard weapons which goes to tell the level of suckage i will be dealing here. Thankfully Cervantes is the best character in the game only below Soul Edge so even with his worst weapon, he is still a freaking menace. The Main Gauche has one saving grace other then its speed when it comes to Cervantes weapons as this is the only weapon that Cervantes has that has a better Range compared to his standard weapon. This means that i can still play to Cervantes strength and abuse his great range overall and that is gonna be the key to winning as i will need to hit the opponent way more then they have to me to win. The Main Gauche does make Cervantes lose his uber busted win condition of his disarming game and its much easier for him to get disarmed and that happened on some matchups as its way too easy to get disarmed with the Main Gauche sadly. Overall this is far from the worst weapons around but for Cervantes its definitely his worst weapon as its only good stat is completely overshadowed by his Ultimate Weapon which is both faster and better at literally everything else besides the Range so this run was on the easy side as it only took 1 try and Cervantes is just too good as well.
