No, not the real Sonic Xtreme, of course. This was quite an interesting flash game find when I was younger, mainly due to the name and the fact that it has elements from Super Mario World in it. Yeah, this game is another strange mix of Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario, plus the game using a mismatch of sprites from Sonic 1, 2, 3 & Knuckles, and the Sonic Advance games.
The music for most of the game is Aquatic Ruin from Sonic 2, and then in later levels, the Boss theme from Sonic 1. I could never beat this game when I was younger, either I kept dying at levels before the boss, or well, I get to the boss, but kept dying until I got a Game Over.
But first, man the physics are floaty in this game! Sonic goes fast which is what I like, but it's oddly slippery at the same time, leading to a near death experience during the longplay of this game, plus there's no way to control the height of the jump, so you're just stuck with a floaty jump which isn't really ideal for collecting the rings and defeating the enemies which aren't really needed in the first place.
Remember when I said earlier in the description that I kept dying on the boss? Well, maybe that was mainly because the missiles that Dr. Robotnik sends flying down can still kill you even with the shield, in which the no I-Frames issue is probably the reason why I never beat this when I was younger when it came to that boss. And now, as an adult, it's actually really easy. Just keep hitting Dr. Robotnik when the missiles aren't in a contact area, and Dr. Robotnik deals many hits due to him also not having any I-Frames, so you can damage through the boss and beat the game.
And the ending... well, it's not worth it, just an ending screen saying "fin", but with how short and bizarre this was of a game, I don't think the ending should be anything special anyways. Also, this game is honest about it not being official, which is sorta interesting I guess. This probably came around the time when Sonic Rush and Sonic 06 came out due to the "go and buy the sonic in Nintendo ds, xbox" text on the title screen, so yeah, this must've been a pretty early unofficial Sonic flash game.
