What do Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn all have in common? They are all desperate for your attention and will do whatever it takes to keep you on the platform. Of course, they way they do this is to be a predatory as possible and show you the things they think will actually keep you there rather than facilitating any meaningful human connection.
That's really oversimplified, but the point is that social media in general is dying and has been dying for a few years now. Most social media sites are mostly wastelands, filled with AI generated or low-effort content that is only there to keep you watching. The few, meaningful posts you find are gone forever as soon as you scroll away, and those people and pages you choose to follow because you find them interesting will only be shown to you once in a while, and rarely any sooner than a day or two after a post was made.
Maybe you disagree. Maybe you think there is nothing wrong and that social media is perfect the way it is, or at least workable. I'd love to hear what you think in the comments!
