Exchord | SM64 - Shrink the "Copy File" Box @Exchord | Uploaded June 2015 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
Pay attention to the glitched text at the top of the screen if you're not familiar with this trick.
Kyman recently posted about the menu glitch on TASVideos (tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=410300#410300) and I decided to mess around with it. What I found is incredibly useless but still somewhat interesting.
These are the four methods shown in the video:
0:00 After the file select screen loads, quickly hit the green box. (The top of the screen should now read "No Saved Data Exists".) Then select blue, yellow, red, green, red. Select No on the Erase File screen.
0:19 Go to the copy screen, select an empty file and hit the yellow box while the "No Saved Data Exists" text is on screen. Go to the Erase File screen and then go to the Score screen. Select an empty file, go back to the Erase File screen, and select No.
0:37 After the file select screen loads, quickly hit the blue box. (The top of the screen should now read "No Saved Data Exists".) Then select yellow, red, green. Select an empty file, go to the Erase File screen, and select No.
0:49 Select blue, yellow, red. Select an empty file and hit the green box while the "No Saved Data Exists" text is on screen. Then select an empty file, go to the Erase File screen, and select No.
If you select Yes, the game will freeze and nothing will be deleted.
The second and fourth methods will not shrink the blue box if you previously copied or deleted a file. Instead, the icon of the last file you copied or deleted will shrink, and the file will be deleted if you select Yes.
There might be more things to be found on the menu, but I'm not expecting anything big.
