I collect the star Mysterious Mountainside in Tall, Tall Mountain without using any buttons (I only use the joystick and adjust the camera angle). I collect the star Roll into the Cage in Tick Tock Clock using 2 A presses. The first A press is to jump to the platform next to the cogs with the bob-omb. The second A press it to jump up to collect the star.
This video is an improvement from my previous video in which I collected this star in 3 A presses. You can find that video here: http://youtu.be/BeVRvRlAK6E. Since then, I worked out a new strategy that saves an A press using the bloated bob-omb momentum glitch.
You see, when Mario holds a bloated bob-omb (whether normally or hands free), then he will have a constant backwards momentum. I take advantage of this momentum by having it push Mario during his ground pounds to help ascend the cogs. Then from the highest cog, I use the momentum to cross the gap to the cog near the cage. From there, I can enter the cage and collect the star using only one more A press.
This maneuver was extremely tedious to pull off. Marios moves are very limited when maintaining a bloated bob-omb, since he is expected to grab it as soon as it starts to blow up again. This doesnt leave very much time or freedom to angle himself properly, since he must always be facing the bob-omb to pick it up again. Furthermore, the constant backwards momentum can be very difficult to control. Since the cogs have such a small surface area, Mario can basically never have his back towards the edge, since he would be pushed off to his demise. The bob-omb actually has 4 bloated sizes, ranging from small to large, with larger sizes yielding greater momentum. Thus, I used smaller sizes when trying to angle and position Mario (since they allowed for more control), and used bigger sizes when ascending the cogs and crossing gaps (since only they provided sufficient momentum to do so).

I collect the 100 coin star in Hazy Maze Cave using 1 A press. The A press is to jump up to slam on the blue coin block.
I spent a lot of time formulating this route, as you can see in the diagrams below. I drew a graph of the different sections of HMC with their respective coin counts and the # of A presses to cross between them. I soon came to a problem, which was that in the maze, I needed 3 bats to reach the alcove, 1 bat to reach the highest blue coin, and 1 bat to leave. However, this required 5 bats, and was thus impossible. Eventually, I discovered that I could use a bat to get back onto the balcony from the rolling rock alley. This meant that I didnt need a bat to exit the maze, since I could collect the lake coins before entering the maze and just end in the maze.
I finally figured out how to reach the alcove purely by bouncing on the bats. See, there are 3 levels that the bats will fly at (see Swooper Levels below). The bats start at the low level by default. They can get to a medium level by flying onto the blue coin block platform or the montey mole platform. Then they can get to the high level by flying onto the ramp leading up to the exit. Mario needs to bounce on a bat from all 3 levels in order to reach the alcove. Recently, I discovered that a bat will respawn only when you leave both it AND its starting location (see Double Radius Principle below). So, instead of following the bats around, I could just wait at their starting locations until they aligned in front of the alcove purely by chance. Since I didnt have to follow them around, this meant I didnt have to worry about Mario dying from the toxic gas, or about the bats diverging and Mario being unable to accompany both. Instead, I just waited patiently for the RNG to do its thing.

I complete the level Bowser in the Sky using 4 A presses. The A presses are as follows:
A press #1: to jump up the first two platforms at the beginning
A press #2: to jump up the third platform at the beginning
A press #3: to jump from the rotating elevator to the platform with chuckya on it
A press #4: to jump off the pole near the goombas
This video is an improvement from my previous video in which I did this in 6 A presses. You can find that video here: http://youtu.be/UGAn4pkl9dE. Since then, I figured out how to eliminate two more A presses, described below.
The first A press I eliminated was at the beginning, while jumping up the 3 platforms. Thanks to the persistence of wizdoodle and Gaehne D., I figured out a way to cross the 3 gaps in the beginning using only 2 A presses. One double jump can provide sufficient height and distance if you first stutter on the edge (to bypass the single jump) and then jump with a kick. Its tricky to do, but possible.
The second (and more prominent) A press that I eliminated was the A press to get into the warp pipe. After weeks of testing and strategizing (during which I discovered the mystery goomba!), I finally formulated an optimal route for using goombas to get into the warp pipe. Like my original goomba bridge, I use several goombas, each one relying on previous goombas in order to be placed at a greater distance. Because of this, the number of goombas required is exponential. My original plan required over 100 goombas, but through meticulous testing, I narrowed it down to just 63. Here is a table I made and used to help keep track of what each goomba does and where precisely it should be released: http://imgur.com/hV8l4Mg. With so many goombas required, precise placement is crucial so that their hitboxes dont get lost. By the end, I had so many goombas that the graphics started glitching out (7:23) if I looked at them all at once (and hence, why I used slightly odd camera angles towards the end). This could also result in temporary/permanent loss of the HUD (which is why the star counter disappeared by the end).
It is worth noting that 63 is not actually the minimum number of goombas required. Instead, my strategy used additional goombas for the sake of convenience, which are as follows:
50 goombas - to get into the warp pipe
2 goombas - to get the red coin under the stairs
7 goombas - as sacrifice goombas that hurt Mario once thrown (Mario could bypass these goombas by releasing the first one of a section using a less traditional method, like getting squished, but I wanted the spacing to be perfect)
4 goombas - to avoid having to push a goomba around while carrying a goomba clone (at several points I had to push goombas using other goombas, and this would be very hard to do while holding a clone, due to the lack of acceleration, quick turning, and ability to knock into the goombas)
Note: To avoid having to do this goomba strategy twice (once with the red coins, once without red coins), this video is a hybrid of two videos, and I switch between them while Im climbing the pole (at 1:04). Nevertheless, the strategy I employ is completely possible to do in a single run.

I go to Bowser in the Sky (from Wing Mario Over the Rainbow) using 1 A press.
This video is an improvement from my previous video in which I did this in 2 A presses. You can find that video here: http://youtu.be/mlHzqJn2SMs?t=6m13s. Since then, I discovered that I could actually do it in 1 A press as long as I started out at either Wing Mario Over the Rainbow or Rainbow Ride. The technique I use is as follows. First, I get onto the second step using the bounce from a ZB. Then, I grind on the edge of the step and perform 4 consecutive dives to build up enough speed so that my double jump has enough height to reach the top floor. Performing this feat requires a very precise positioning and angle to start with, and then requires very precise inputs to do the dives. So, it was pretty difficult to do!
For the record, during the stunt I maintained an angle between 39596 and 39742 and my speed during the 4 dives respectively was 16.5, 31.7, 44.9, and 48.1.
