I collect the star Shell Shreddin' for Red Coins in Snowman's Land without using any buttons (I only use the joystick and adjust the camera angle).
I originally deemed this star impossible because of the red coin directly beneath the ice bully's platform. However, using some innovative thinking, I lure a moneybag all the way over to the red coin, and use its bounce to help me escape from death.
Luring the moneybags over there was very difficult. I basically woke them up and then let them go back to sleep: if they were closer to their destination, I kept them; if they were further, I reverted and tried again. I also bred multiple moneybags, and whichever one(s) tended to go the right way, I kept breeding and moving. It was a very interesting but tedious process.

I complete the level Bowser in the Sky using 4 A presses. The A presses are as follows:
A press #1: to jump up the first two platforms at the beginning
A press #2: to jump up the third platform at the beginning
A press #3: to jump from the rotating elevator to the platform with chuckya on it
A press #4: to jump off the pole near the goombas
This video is an improvement from my previous video in which I did this in 6 A presses. You can find that video here: http://youtu.be/UGAn4pkl9dE. Since then, I figured out how to eliminate two more A presses, described below.
The first A press I eliminated was at the beginning, while jumping up the 3 platforms. Thanks to the persistence of wizdoodle and Gaehne D., I figured out a way to cross the 3 gaps in the beginning using only 2 A presses. One double jump can provide sufficient height and distance if you first stutter on the edge (to bypass the single jump) and then jump with a kick. Its tricky to do, but possible.
The second (and more prominent) A press that I eliminated was the A press to get into the warp pipe. After weeks of testing and strategizing (during which I discovered the mystery goomba!), I finally formulated an optimal route for using goombas to get into the warp pipe. Like my original goomba bridge, I use several goombas, each one relying on previous goombas in order to be placed at a greater distance. Because of this, the number of goombas required is exponential. My original plan required over 100 goombas, but through meticulous testing, I narrowed it down to just 63. Here is a table I made and used to help keep track of what each goomba does and where precisely it should be released: http://imgur.com/hV8l4Mg. With so many goombas required, precise placement is crucial so that their hitboxes dont get lost. By the end, I had so many goombas that the graphics started glitching out (7:23) if I looked at them all at once (and hence, why I used slightly odd camera angles towards the end). This could also result in temporary/permanent loss of the HUD (which is why the star counter disappeared by the end).
It is worth noting that 63 is not actually the minimum number of goombas required. Instead, my strategy used additional goombas for the sake of convenience, which are as follows:
50 goombas - to get into the warp pipe
2 goombas - to get the red coin under the stairs
7 goombas - as sacrifice goombas that hurt Mario once thrown (Mario could bypass these goombas by releasing the first one of a section using a less traditional method, like getting squished, but I wanted the spacing to be perfect)
4 goombas - to avoid having to push a goomba around while carrying a goomba clone (at several points I had to push goombas using other goombas, and this would be very hard to do while holding a clone, due to the lack of acceleration, quick turning, and ability to knock into the goombas)
Note: To avoid having to do this goomba strategy twice (once with the red coins, once without red coins), this video is a hybrid of two videos, and I switch between them while Im climbing the pole (at 1:04). Nevertheless, the strategy I employ is completely possible to do in a single run.

I go to Bowser in the Sky (from Wing Mario Over the Rainbow) using 1 A press.
This video is an improvement from my previous video in which I did this in 2 A presses. You can find that video here: http://youtu.be/mlHzqJn2SMs?t=6m13s. Since then, I discovered that I could actually do it in 1 A press as long as I started out at either Wing Mario Over the Rainbow or Rainbow Ride. The technique I use is as follows. First, I get onto the second step using the bounce from a ZB. Then, I grind on the edge of the step and perform 4 consecutive dives to build up enough speed so that my double jump has enough height to reach the top floor. Performing this feat requires a very precise positioning and angle to start with, and then requires very precise inputs to do the dives. So, it was pretty difficult to do!
For the record, during the stunt I maintained an angle between 39596 and 39742 and my speed during the 4 dives respectively was 16.5, 31.7, 44.9, and 48.1.

Since then, I figured out that you can use a goomba to bounce across the gap in the back-and-forth bridge. This requires Mario to dive towards the goomba, land for a single frame (so as to be in an upright position, but only one frame so as to not lose speed), and then bounce on the goomba (that had just fallen off the platform). This bounce must also occur somewhat deep on the bridge so that the other side of the bridge comes closer during Marios air time.

I collect the star The Big House in the Sky in Rainbow Ride using 1 A press. The A press is to jump over the 4th glass block that lies on the carpets path.
This video is an improvement from my previous video in which I collected this star in 3 A presses. You can find that video here: http://youtu.be/75SMmnsTxlM. Since then, I was informed by Tyler Kehne of a glitch in which Mario is able to retain his vertical speed. You see, when Mario does a dive recover and lands, the variable that maintains his vertical speed does NOT reset to zero. So, if Mario lands while he is falling, then this vertical speed will be negative. But if Mario lands while he is still ascending, then this vertical speed will be positive. This vertical speed WILL reset to 0 if Mario moves at all, but punching and breakdancing will not affect it. Anyway, once Mario becomes airborne, then his vertical speed takes instant effect. So by storing a positive vertical speed and not resetting it, I am able to have Mario pop up when he falls off the carpet, effectively bypassing the 2nd and 3rd glass blocks that lie on the carpets path.

I collect the star Top O the Town in Wet-Dry World using 0 A presses. Unfortunately, this route requires the water level to be high, and so this wouldnt actually save an A press in the 120 star run, since it takes an A press to enter the painting at that height. The reason I need the high water level is for the trick to glitch my way back to the main area from the town. You see, when you go through the loading point and transition from standing to being in water, Mario instantly rises to the top of the water. On the high water level, this means appearing in the main area. But on the low/medium water levels, the top of the water is out of bounds, and so Mario just stays in the pipe.
This is a very complicated route, so Ill do my best to explain it. First, I grab chuckya to place the HOLP near the wooden plank. Then, I go to town. As I go through the loading point, I loop back around to raise the water level a bit. When I make it to town, I ascend onto the cork boxes using a misalignment. I then perform the hat in hand glitch using the metal cap, using the water to keep the metal cap from falling off the boxes. I then make my way back to the main area. To do this, I lower the water level so much that the pipe becomes mostly dry, and Im able to stand on the floor of the pipe. Interestingly, when Mario loads the main area while standing at the bottom of the pipe, he instantly ascends to the surface of the water (but only if the water is at its highest level). After Im back in the main area, I release chuckya at the HOLP using object displacement, and get him safely onto the plank. I then use the teleport to undo the hat in hand glitch, and make my way back to chuckya. This time, chuckya helps me back onto the plank. I then open the star block, transport chuckya to the star, and have him throw me into it.
To raise/lower the water, I make use of a glitch, which works as follows. The water in the town raises and lowers periodically. Whatever water level you unload the town on becomes the median water level for the next time you load the town. So if you consistently unload the town while the water is at the top/bottom of its cycle, then the water will gradually rise/lower over time.
In order to get chuckya onto the plank, I make use of the object displacement glitch. You see, when Mario has his hat in his hand, objects he releases dont appear in front of him, but instead appear at a point known as the HOLP. The HOLP represents the last place Mario held an object without the hat in hand glitch. Anyway, normally when I throw chuckya, I cant catch up to him fast enough to reach him before the peak of his trajectory. However, using the hat in hand glitch, I can throw chuckya into myself, thereby allowing him to make it onto the plank safely.
