Production of Skoda Engines & Gearboxes - Modern Facility (Vrchlabi Plant at the Czech Republic).
Three gearboxes are produced by a Czech company for the Volkswagen Group: the MQ/SQ100 and MQ200 at the company's headquarters in Mladá Boleslav, and the DQ200 at the Vrchlab factory.
Since 2000, the MQ 200 gearbox has been rolling off the Mladá Boleslav assembly lines. It is utilized in petrol engines of 1.0 to 1.6 liters of displacement. These include the current generation of KODA automobiles as well as Volkswagen, Audi, and Seat models. Approximately 1900 units are presently produced each day for the MQ 200, and more than 6.5 million of these gearboxes have already been made.
The MQ100/SQ100 transmission has also been produced in Mladá Boleslav since 2011. These gearboxes were first created for the Volkswagen Group's "New-Small-Family" vehicles (the KODA CITIGO, VW up!, and Seat Mii). Since then, the KODA FABIA and other compact vehicles from the Volkswagen Group have both been equipped with 1.0-liter petrol engines and the MQ100/SQ100 gearboxes. There are around 1400 units produced each day. Over 1.6 million of these transmissions have been made so far.
KODA AUTO also creates the automatic dual clutch transmission in addition to manual transmissions (DSG). One of the most advanced gears of its kind in the automobile industry is the DQ200 seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Today's Vrchlab team cranks out about 2100 of these gearboxes every day, surpassing the 1.8 million mark recently. At the Vrchlab factory, collaborative robots are employed to produce DSG transmissions. They assist the workers in inserting the gear actuator piston, one of the most delicate procedures in transmission manufacture. Another tool employed is a handling robot, which can return empty containers to the warehouse and provide components to dozens of machines.
