Slovakia has manufactured three versions of the award-winning and popular SUV, making it the'spiritual home' of the Sportage.
The new Kia Sportage is now being manufactured in the company's state-of-the-art factory in ilina, Slovakia. Since 2006, Kia Slovakia has produced a lengthy series of Sportage vehicles, the newest of which is the fifth generation Sportage. Throughout two million units have been produced in that period, helping to fulfill Sportage demand from consumers all over Europe.
For the first time in the Sportage's 28-year existence, a specialized European version has been created, manufactured, and optimized exclusively for European preferences. The Sportage, which is based on a revolutionary architecture, blends a sleek but muscular and contemporary external appearance with a cutting-edge luxury interior that includes a swooping integrated curved display that houses the most cutting-edge networking technology.
The Sportage's capabilities are further enhanced by state-of-the-art hybrid powertrains that help to cut emissions and improve fuel efficiency. Another first for the Sportage is an advanced hybrid (HEV) model, which joins a mild-hybrid (MHEV) variant and a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV)* option.
The PHEV prioritizes electric-only driving, which may cover the majority of daily travels from home to work or for daily shopping. The most recent internal combustion clean petrol and diesel engines (ICE) come in a variety of efficiency, transmission, and power configurations. All four types of Sportage drivetrains - PHEV, HEV, MHEV, and ICE – will be built at ilina, demonstrating the Kia Slovakia plant's exceptional flexibility and adaptability.
