Electric Rivian's R1T truck and R1S SUV factories. The company had four principal locations as of 2020. Vehicle engineering and design, propulsion and battery system development, and commercial operations are all handled from the company's headquarters in Irvine, California. Rivian's Plymouth, Michigan, headquarters is dedicated to vehicle engineering, prototypes, supply chain, and accounting. Self-driving technologies and data are developed at a site in Palo Alto, California. In Normal, Illinois, a 2.6-million-square-foot (240,000-square-meter) facility produces automotive components such as battery packs. A paint shop, robotics, stamping machines, and other production equipment, such as injection molding, are all available at the Normal plant. The corporation also has offices in Carson, California, and Woking, England, which are responsible for advanced engineering and electric power conversion, respectively.
