In Appenzell they celebrate the New Year TWICE! On 31st of December and on January 13th. On these dates, mystical men, dressed up in Ugly, Beautifully Ugly and Beautiful costumes roam around the Villages of Urnäsch, Waldstatt and Schwellbrunn to go and bless every house with Yodel Chants and chase away the winter Spirits by ringing the bells. This beautiful tradition can only be seen when traveling to Appenzell Ausserrhoden and roots very deeply in the culture of the locals. Some say that people live for this tradition.
This is only a cinematic Intro. A long version, including explanations about this tradition will be published near to the date of celebration.
