Avoriaz is a unique Winter village on top of the rocks on 1800 in the French Alps. Because of its very distinct architecture, Avoriaz has a lot to be a true Winter Wonderland. The village is car-free, snow sure and thus great for skiers, pedestrians or daytime visitors. Avoriaz, unlike the other typical villages of the Alps, does not have many cozy chalets but instead many wooden highrise buildings that are very characteristic for this town. This allows to host a lot of people on a small area but also helps to lower the prices, making Avoriaz affordable even for budget travelers.
Arrival: By car from Morzine, carparks are available at the entrance of the village to Avoriaz. Alternatively, one can arrive by car or bus to “Les Prodains” and take the cabin ride up to the village. Travelling by ski from other parts of the Portes du Soleil is another option.
